Countries other than the USA have National Registries that keep track of hip replacements.  They list all kinds of information about the kind of hip a person received, the doctor, the date of surgery, if there were any problems or revisions required.  It is a place to search to find out how other people's surgeries went, how their post op recoveries were and if there were any problems or revisions required.  If you are looking for information about types of hips, surgeries or doctors, these National Registries are a great help.  Since the USA does not have one, the Hip Replacement Registry is designed to be that same kind of tool.

There are basically two types of hip replacement available - a total hip replacement (THR) or a hip resurfacing.  The Hip Replacement Registry is broken down into two categories for each type of hip replacement option.

If you would like to take part in the registry, just fill out the form with your information.  There is a place on the form for only your first name - unless you want to post your full name. That is optional.  There is a place for you to comment on your surgery and how it went. Was your post op recovery easy or difficult?  Was you post op recovery fast or slow?  Have you fully recovered?  What doctor did you use?  What kind of PT did you receive?  Would you use the same surgeon again if you had to do another hip or recommend him/her to a friend or relative?

The Hip Replacement Registry is a place to share your information to help others looking for information about hip replacement.  Hip replacement is a major surgery and there are many things to think about before choosing a surgeon and a new hip. The Hip Replacement Registry is a collection of information to help you make a decision about your new hip.
